Leadership is quiet and relational, not performative. Something parents who pay attention learn quickly—if you want your child to listen to your words, lower your voice, don’t raise it.

I was a PBS kid all the way. My mom recalls me telling her in my preschool days, “Mr. Rogers loves me just the way I am.” Due to my Enneagram One perfectionistic mindset, it took me many years before I fully realized that God loved me just the way I was, but boy was that life changing when I did. I’m so glad I had Mr. Rogers’ voice in my head and heart before I was able to hear God speak it over me.

What a wonderful reminder of the grace Mr. Rodgers conveyed through a screen. Thank you for the equally gracious reminder that being kind is so very brave!!
