Hey, I’m Beau.
I grew up Southern Baptist and later became a non-denominational pastor.
Now I lead Adult Discipleship at Resurrection Downtown, a United Methodist church in the heart of Kansas City.
This space is called Becoming Mainline because it’s my story…of shifting faith, evolving theology, and finding grace I didn’t expect in a tradition I never thought I’d be part of.
Here, I write about:
The tension between the faith we were handed and the one we’re still forming
What it means to lead with humility, integrity, and soul
The beauty (and challenge) of mainline Christianity in a shifting world
And the ways God still meets us in the mundane moments
If you’re rethinking the faith you grew up with…
If you’re longing for a deeper, wider experience of Jesus…
If you’re still becoming too…
You’re in good company.

Exmormon and current Methodist here. I never even understood the actual concept of grace until I became a United Methodist member. Looking forward to learning more from you here.
Happy to connect with you! Such a similar path to mine.
