Thank you for giving us all permission to rest in kairos time! My husband and I share the same story, he's early, I'll get there really close to on time and when it really matters I'm on time. I imagine a lot of the same conversations you two had over the years. That said, I am preaching this Advent on the people of Christmas and the news they were getting. Your comments on control are informing me for this week's story of Joseph, righteous, loving, attached to the correct timeline, and wrong. It took more than one sleepless night of trying to control the situation righteously and one visit from an angel to wrest that desire for control so God could work with him in kairos time. And we are all the beneficiaries! Happy Advent.

I love this! I'm a classic '10 minutes early' gal myself. Although I married one, too!

But that doesn't mean we have not each had our share of learning we can't control things, or each other.

I hate waiting. But I love Advent :).

and you're not late!

I read this six days after it was posted and it was the right time for me.

Thanks, This speaks to me in so many ways.

As usual you are loving and forgiving in your message. And being the time of Advent it is a very special way to be. Thank you. Have a wonderful Advent and Christmas season with your family❤️

This is such a generous and kind permission slip—and one that I am always in desperate need of.

I'm a responsible respectable person who shows up 1/2 hour early in a world where people trickle in many minutes late. It is what it is
