I imagine a lot of the same conversations you two had over the years. That said, I am preaching this Advent on the people of Christmas and the news they were getting. Your comments on control are informing me for this week's story of Joseph, righteous, loving, attached to the correct timeline, and wrong. It took more than one sleepless night of trying to control the situation righteously and one visit from an angel to wrest that desire for control so God could work with him in kairos time. I love this! I'm a classic '10 minutes early' gal myself. Although I married one, too!
But that doesn't mean we have not each had our share of learning we can't control things, or each other.
