One Last Friday Post (and a Huge Thank You)
Why I’m simplifying...and how you can help me keep going.
We Made It
When I launched this newsletter on May 1st, I quietly set a goal for myself: reach 1,000 subscribers. I figured when that happened, I'd take a step back, reassess everything, and figure out a pace I could actually maintain over time. Well, here we are…much sooner than I expected…and I'm honestly overwhelmed by your support.
What's Changing
Today feels like the right moment to say thank you and let you know about a shift I'm making. This will be my last Friday post. Starting next week, I'm simplifying things with a rhythm that feels more sustainable: one essay every Tuesday, alternating between practical faith pieces (which will stay free) and deeper theological explorations (for paid subscribers). I'm planning to spend significantly more time developing those theological essays, really diving into the ideas that matter most.
The new flow will be two practical faith essays each month that anyone can read, plus two theological deep-dives for paid subscribers. No more weekly behind-the-scenes videos (those honestly take more energy than I realized). Just one thoughtful essay each week, written with care instead of written against a clock. I think this will let me offer you something richer rather than just checking another box on my to-do list. I hope that makes sense.
The Reality Behind the Words
Here's the thing: I'm on staff at a church, trying to navigate parenting teenagers, and most of my writing happens in whatever margins I can find…early mornings before everyone's awake, late evenings after the day winds down, or squeezed between meetings. These past three months, I've been running pretty hard. It feels like the right time to choose depth over frequency, and quality over quantity.
If This Space Matters to You
If this space has meant something to you, I'd be honored if you'd consider becoming a paid subscriber. It's $8 a month, and after the platform takes its cut, I receive about $6.50…roughly what you'd spend on my favorite latte. Your support helps me keep showing up here for the long run, and paid subscribers get access to everything I create, especially the more personal and carefully crafted pieces.
I know monthly commitments aren't always feasible, so if you'd rather send a one-time gift, you can find me on Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App. But please don't feel any pressure…I'm genuinely grateful you're here at all.
If you recently became a paid subscriber and these changes feel like more than what you signed up for, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm happy to help you pause your subscription or offer a refund…no questions asked.
Thank you for helping me reach this milestone I wasn't sure I'd ever see. I'm looking forward to going deeper together in whatever comes next.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on these changes or any feedback you might have as I navigate this transition. Your perspective means more to me than you know. I love you all. Truly.
See you Tuesday,
—Beau
