It’s hard to stay soft right now.
When everything online feels like a fight, every tragedy becomes politicized, and even your compassion can get labeled as “naïve” or “partisan.”
After writing Tuesday’s piece about the Texas floods and the refusal some people have to show basic empathy, I found myself asking a hard question:
How do you keep your heart tender in a world that rewards outrage more than love?
Because the more I thought about it, the more I realized…staying soft is not the easy path. It’s the resistance.
So in today’s video, I want to walk you through three ways I’ve learned (the hard way) to stay grounded in the way of Jesus…even when empathy feels like a liability.
This one’s for anyone who’s felt accused of “picking a side” just for caring.
